JOHN SCOTT-MACKENZIE

John is the principal of the firm and has worked at the firm since 1979. John practises in the areas of:

  • Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Probate and Letters of Administration
  • Challenging or defending Wills
  • Survivorship Applications
  • Residential Conveyancing

John has a wealth of experience in these areas and has attended to the needs of the local community since 1979.

John is associated with the Australian Red Cross, Vision Australia, the Salvation Army and Anglicord. We charge no professional fees to prepare Wills for testators who are prepared to make a donation to such charities in their Wills.

John is prepared to travel to clients’ private residences or care facilities to take instructions with a travelling fee of $55.00 charged for such travel. John is capable of preparing Wills and Powers of Attorney accurately and quickly especially if an emergency arises such as a forthcoming operation, medical illness or trip overseas.

KIM NGUYEN

Kim is in charge of our Family and Commercial Law areas.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Management) from Monash University and has been a practising lawyer for over 10 years.

Kim practices in all aspects of Family Law which include:-

  • Property and superannuation matters
  • Residence and contact of children and applications by third parties including grand-parents
  • Pre-nuptial agreements and financial orders during and after marriage
  • Divorce applications

Kim’s caring and easy to understand manner will ensure that your family law problems are dealt with in a sensitive but appropriate manner.

Kim has an interest in mediation and her practice philosophy is to assist parties to resolve conflict and achieve settlement without recourse to the Courts wherever possible, unless that should become necessary or appropriate. In this way, parties obtain a quicker and more cost effective result.

KELLIE ENGLISH

Kellie has been working in the legal industry for over 20 years and completed her Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University with Honours.

Kellie has extensive experience in deceased estate matters and in the drawing of Wills and Powers of Attorney.  She also has assisted many aggrieved family members that may not have been adequately provided for in a Will.

Kellie is also prepared to visit clients at their home in order to assist them with their particular matter.

KERRY BARBER

Kerry has been working in the legal industry for over 20 years and has been employed as a Conveyancing Clerk in suburban Melbourne for over 10 years. Kerry has extensive experience in the purchase and sale of real estate including vacant land, houses, apartments and ‘off-the-plan’ subdivisions.

KAYLENE HORNE

John Scott-Mackenzie is assisted by his secretary Kaylene who has been with the firm for over 25 years. Kaylene is experienced in preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate and Letters of Administration documents. Kaylene is happy to assist clients with their initial enquiries.

MEGAN PRICE

John Scott-Mackenzie and Kellie English are also assisted by their secretary Megan who has been employed in the legal industry for 15 years. Megan is experienced in preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate and Letters of Administration documents. Megan is happy to assist clients with their initial enquiries.

TISSY HUBY

Tissy has been employed at the firm for a period of approximately 30 years. Tissy operates the firm’s switchboard and attends to all general office matters.

At times, Tissy will also attend to secretarial duties and assist clients both on the telephone and personally.

ANGIE CHEN

Angie is the firm’s bookkeeper. Angie undertakes the firm’s account work, pays wages, prepares cheques and accounts. Angie checks and stores our bills, organises banking and undertakes many associated activities. Angie is prepared to discuss accounts with clients and assist them when possible.
